John helping others to set up some shelter for their families
We were evacuated
on Friday night because of the tsunami warning. Everyone was effected. At the campus they had all of the students sleep on the second floor. Many of us were required to leave our homes and many others took families in for the night. Our land lords invited us to go up in the hills to a chicken farm that one of the family managed. We felt very lucky because places fill up early. We spent the night in the car with little to no sleep and returned the next day to find all was well. Our home was still there with no damage. Had it been washed away I fear we were not prepared to get by until help could come. Some things we remembered others we didn't think of. Hope all of you are prepared when emergency stricks.

I am grateful you are safe. The tsunami was a rude awakening for me - maybe I shouldn't be so excited about you being there!!
